W.D.: Is there anything else you want to say?
B.O.: I love working with gay people in this city. They have been good to me, but I wish that when people go into a disco they would not make requests. Just get in and enjoy what the DJ lays down.
In future columns, I will be interviewing other people who influence what disco we hear; other DJ's, radio personalities, and disco entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, keep on dancin'!

ShowStoppers is a drag tradition in the Nation's Capitol. Sponsored and produced by the Academy Awards of Washington, Inc., ShowStoppers has simultaneously delighted and frustrated drag enthusiasts in Washington in its seven year history.
-
ShowStoppers delights because it is filled with fantastic costumes extravagant gowns, wigs, and feathers and fluff for days. The show also boasts a cast of enthusiastic amateur female impersonators, all employed at other jobs, who devote months of after-office hours to rehearsing, designing sets and costumes, and promoting their show.
Show Stoppers frustrates some not devoted to drag because the show, by almost any standards, has a history of dragging on too long. Last year's show could have been cut by one-third without eliminating any act that was essential, and could thereby have been much more entertaining.
The theme of this year's event is Show Stoppers "Follies." "Follies of Heaven," "Follies of Hell," "New York" Follies," "Follies Bergere," and "Star War Follies," the acts in this year's show, promise all the outlandish glitter and glamour for which ShowStoppers has become famous.
Miss Fany Brice, the originator of the ShowStoppers concept, will direct "Follies," assisted by Rock Hudson,
Rock Hudson and Fanny Brice who has worked in professional theatre and has been a mainstay of the Academy Awards for all of its eight years. The cast comes from the four "houses," that compose the Academy Awards, Phoenix House, Beekman Place, Henry Street, and Maryland' House. The houses serve as gathering places for the men and women associated with the Academy Awards, and are surrogate families for the members.
The "Follies" production is based on the original Ziegfield Follies of Broadway fame and features Miss Gay America, Kelly Stevens; Miss Gay Universe, Suzanne Pleshette; the Academy's Best Actress, Lucille Ball; and Best Actor, John Gavin. ShowStoppers "Follies" will also feature the well known drag of Joanna's of Southeast and Miss Jean Nate, of the Gold Key Club of North Beach.
The production will be staged at the Trinity Theatre in Georgetown at 36th and "O" Streets, N.W., on Saturday, September 16 at 9 p.m.; Sunday, September 17, at 4 p.m.; and Saturday, September 23 at 9 p.m. Tickets for all performances are $7, and there is no reserved seating. For further information call 232-3744 or 234-6494.
Fans of ShowStoppers will not want to miss this 8th annual drag bonanza.
